Doldrums End is my debut full-length album, a deeply personal and evocative journey of self-discovery and healing. I brought these demos into the studio in Mexico City, where I was living at the time, and it was there that the story really began to take shape. With the help of an incredible group of creatives, the album evolved into something even more invaluable to me.
The album tells the story of a person emerging from a toxic relationship, navigating the challenges of self-love, self-worth, and vulnerability. Along the way, the protagonist faces heartbreak again, but ultimately discovers the love they have for themselves and the beauty they can create through their art.
Set in a time and place untethered to reality, Doldrums End feels both real and mystical. Visually, it’s a mixture of the unsettling and the beautiful, reflecting the chaos and peace found in the process of healing and self-acceptance. It invites listeners to explore the complexity of vulnerability, but leaves them with the strength that comes from embracing it.
